I saw this film once, right, and there was this box, yeah? You could plug it into your brain, right. And the box let you live the experience of the person who had recorded it, you know - on the recording version of the box, and it was all sex and murder and stuff, right, and I don't really remember the end but I thought that'd be cool, man. A sexy-brain-box. That's better than the internet, right? Where's my sexy-brain-box boffins? You can put a man on the moon but I have to find my own porn and pleasure myself? What is this, the dark ages?

lmfaho. . .Its a question of real life I guess, that gets in the way. Lol. ;-p Seriously as we get older we tend to appreciate and live it more.

Has always been there, but been left on hold. . .since the introduction of the internet into the house holds. Making an effort to live it has slowed down. Like the TV did in the 70's (in my home at any rate. . .my family were one of the last in our circle of friends to get).

T o d a y. . .the internet who knows 10years time.

Agreed. Facebook is definitely (currently) a necessary evil for some purposes. I thought it might be a necessary evil for me which is why I didn't delete my account a year ago. Eventually, I decided that, for me, the evil far outweighed the necessary. I completely understand why it's necessary to maintain a presence for many promotional purposes.

I am, for now anyway, quite enjoying the Twitter thing and am, therefore, in no position to judge (not that I intend to) anyone who continues to Facebook.

Even though they're more wrong than fruity beer.

I too felt the same way about facebook & twitter. Facebook was (& to a point still seems) quite a facist organisation with Twitter being inundated with boring 'look at me' attention-seeking snippets of info into other peoples' lives. That's the main reason I couldn't be arsed with either of them at one time.
What's my excuse for reappearing on both?
After a band meeting, it was decreed that myspace was dead, victim to the flakey whims of the average social network user who'd rather bury a mob boss on their farm than discover new music (after buying myspace, Rupert Murdoch didn't have a clue what to do with it and I'm sure his presence helped to alienate some of its users).
We have to promote gigs, so we go where the people hang out.
Twitter's good for Viz Top Tips, Classifeeds and knob gags.
